It be fixed

“Are you sure you don’t want any help?” Ziggy asked as he and Dillon drove down to the theatre, to buy a pair of tickets in advance for that night’s showing.

“I’m positive, all right?” Dillon replied. “Okay, I made the restaurant reservations, I’m getting the tickets. You guys have already given me weird sex talks for the past two weeks; I think I can handle this.”

“Well, I mean, I don’t want to overstep my bounds, but maybe you should also stop by the drug store after this,” Ziggy suggested. Dillon turned to glare at Ziggy only for a moment before he turned his eyes back to the road. They stopped at the entrance to the theatre parking lot, and before Dillon had a chance to do anything, Ziggy hopped out of the car and jogged up to the doors.

“What are you doing?” Dillon hissed, before going to park his car. He found a spot quacking in the empty lot and strode up to the door, finding Ziggy easily in the lobby, speaking with one of the girls in the inner box office.

“Thanks Beatrice,” Ziggy said, accepting two tickets from the girl behind the glass.

“No problem, Zig, I hope your friends enjoy the show. And do you think he’s going to pop the question?” she asked.

“No, it’s more like six month anniversary kind of special occasion,” Ziggy explained. “Well, they’ll see you tonight.”

“Ziggy what are you doing?” Dillon asked as the younger man came back towards him.

“Buying you tickets,” Ziggy said, waving the two paper sheets in the air. Dillon reached for them, but Ziggy pulled back. “We’ll leave them in the car, so that way you can’t forget, okay?”

“Yes, Mom,” he said, rolling his eyes. “And you didn’t have to do that, I could cover the tickets.”

“Yeah, but I got you really great seats,” Ziggy said. “Anyway, let’s make our pit stop and then we can head back to the garage. Speaking of a pit stop, though, do you have anything to wear for this date? I mean theatre isn’t too fancy, but I have a feeling Summer will get a little dressed up…” Ziggy trailed off as Dillon’s face went blank. “Okay, so we’ll stop by clothing store and grab you some slacks and a dress shirt and a jacket and…do you still have your shoes from the wedding?”

“Yes, I do, we had to buy them,” Dillon said shaking out his head. “Date’s kind of suck.”

“It won’t suck when your there,” Ziggy said, pushing open the theatre doors. “Just be glad you have a best friend who thinks ahead, I guess?”

“And talks. A lot. We really couldn’t forget about that,” Dillon said. Ziggy swiped at him, but Dillon just held the younger man at an arm’s length keeping him from making any real impact. “All right, so clothing store and drug store. Anything else?”

“Flowers might not be a bad touch,” Ziggy suggested.

“How do normal guys do this?” Dillon asked. “Without going insane or something.”

“It’s more of a fine learned art,” Ziggy replied. “I will say going out with guys is a little easier, but you’re not bi or gay, so that doesn’t really matter.”

“I could be bi,” Dillon said. “I mean isn’t that all about experimenting?” he asked as they entered the car. Ziggy snorted, buckling himself into the car.

“That’s what people want you to think, even in this century,” Ziggy replied. “But no, I’m not confused or experimenting, I genuinely feel attracted to both men and women the way straights are attracted to the opposite sex, and gays are attracted to the same sex. I, personally, prefer to think of myself as sexually indiscriminate, but you know, to each their own.”

“So, it doesn’t matter that you are attracted to Scott, that doesn’t like make you gay now?” Dillon asked.

“Nope, still bi,” Ziggy said. “It’s just, I mean it’s an electric thing with Scott. You felt it the first time you talked to Summer didn’t you?”

“Yeah, but how did you know that?” Dillon asked, as he turned out of the theatre toward the shopping district.

“’Cause you guys are soul mates,” Ziggy said.

“And how do you know that?” Dillon asked, glancing at Ziggy as he drove.

“It’s the same way I knew you were like my brother on that kind of level, and Dr. K’s like my little sister—”

“Really?” Dillon asked, tapping his breaks. “Dr. K is your soul sister?”

“Yes! Why do you think we argue so much? I mean when we both really want to, we bicker like we’re brother and sister,” Ziggy explained. “What, did you think I had a crush on her or something?”

“Well, kind of, until you told me about this thing with Scott. And by the way, you are never telling me another secret again,” Dillon told him, as he scanned the shops for something appropriate. “I nearly told him the other day when we were sparing.”

“What?!” Ziggy asked launching forward in his seat, only to be restrained by the belt. “You told Scott?”

“I almost told him, I was going to tease him about it,” Dillon said. “He doesn’t know. Calm down.”

“God, don’t scare me like that,” Ziggy said. “That would be like me telling Summer you are planning to have sex with her.”

“Did you?!” Dillon exclaimed, accidentally hitting the breaks on his car.

“What, no!” Ziggy retorted as the car began moving again. “God, Dillon, I’m not stupid. I have tried to get laid before; I respect your plight, okay? I wouldn’t tell Summer something like that.”

“Good. Damn, Ziggy don’t scare me like that,” Dillon said as he pulled over by the side of the street. “God, do I have to do this?” he asked as he looked at the clothes store. “I hate shopping.”

“I will try and make this as quick and painless as possible,” Ziggy said. “Now the sooner we start, the sooner we can be done.” Dillon suppressed a groan and exited the vehicle.

Summer smiled, as Dillon got out of the car, and held a bouquet of orchids in his hand.

“Are those for me?” she asked.

“Well, I was planning on giving them to Scott…” Summer scowled at him a little, until Dillon leaned in for a kiss.

“Thank you, they are lovely,” Summer replied. “So where did you make the reservations for.”

“No, it’s a surprise,” Dillon said. “So, you’ll just have to be surprised.”

“All right,” she said. “Now, I don’t have to get really dressed up, do I?”

“Wear something nice, but not too nice,” he said. “I don’t think you’ll need diamonds or a big poofy dress for tonight.”

“Okay, well, if I’m too dressed up, I’m blaming you,” she said with a little laugh. Just then the alarms went off. Dillon almost didn’t hold back his groan, as he collected in the ranger room with the others.

“Our old friend Teneya 7 has appeared down town with a group of grinders down in the warehouse district,” Dr. K informed them typing away at her computer.

“Of course,” Dillon muttered. Summer took his hand.

“We can reschedule, don’t worry.” Dillon wanted to tell her that he had built himself up for tonight, and bought clothes, and condoms and he was ready for it to be tonight. But he couldn’t tell her that, because what kind of douche bag would he be then? The kind that used the woman Ziggy described as his soul mate, and the woman he had spark with from the moment he they had met, for just sex and it wasn’t that….but he still wanted this really badly.

“Yeah, okay,” he said.

“Let’s move out,” Scott said, walking out of the Ranger Room toward his car. He shot a look at Dillon though, like he knew what he had been planning and Flynn had actually patted him on the back, before he walked toward his hummer.

“Maybe we’ll win this one quick,” Ziggy said, as they buckled themselves in.

“But then we’ll all be tired and worn out,” Dillon said. “I wouldn’t make her go out after that.”

“You know, if any guy in this whole city deserves a night with his girl, it’s you,” Ziggy said, patting him on the shoulder.

“You are such a cupcake,” Dillon said as he tore out of the Garage at a breakneck speed. The ride was completely silent until they spotted the purple clad android with a group of grinders mulling around a wearhouse.

“Well, well, well,” Tenaya said. “Rangers Green and Black. Where’s the other members of the pack?”

“Coming,” Dillon said as Scott’s sport car pulled up behind them, the Hummer not far behind him.

“Hey, Tenaya, can we talk for just a second?” Ziggy asked.

“Ziggy what are you doing?” Scott hissed.

“Just trust me on this,” Ziggy said, “it’s worth a shot.”

“What would I possibly want to talk about with you, Ranger Green?” Tenaya asked.

“Well, um, there’s something important going on tonight, and I was just wondering if we could maybe skip the battle today, and you could go back and plan something out and maybe execute it in a few days,” Ziggy said.

“Why would I negotiate a chance to destroy you for…what was it you said was going on?” Tenaya asked, waving her hand around.

“Um…something important?” Ziggy’s voice squeaked a little, but Dillon felt to frozen to try and stop him.

“Look, tell me what’s going on, or there’s no dice at all.”

“Dillon’s losing his hypothetical virginity,” Ziggy blurted out. The whole court yard in front of the warehouse, though there were still the Grinders making noises as they gyrated in place. Dillon felt sure when he could move, he would wrap his hands around Ziggy’s neck, and it would be rather easy. And then something strange and miraculous happened. Tenaya began to laugh.

“Oh…oh…oh my god.” Tenaya chocked on her laughter and huffed and puffed on her air. “All right, yeah, go home, we’ll be back later. That just made my fucking day. Yeah, you need to win a prize or something. Grinders move out.” The Grinder’s almost looked quizzical with their still faces, but followed Tenaya’s pointed finger into the distance. “Good luck Ranger Black, with that hypothetical virginity of yours. Jesus of all of you! I would have expected it would be Ranger Green.” She laughed as she walked off into the distance, just as Summer pulled up on her bike.

“What just happened?” she asked, taking off her helmet. “Where’s she going?”

“Um, we talked her out of it,” Ziggy reported. “Scott, do you think I can get a ride back with you?” Ziggy asked.

“Sure…” Scott said, trailing off, while eying Dillon, who remained still and motionless.

“Rangers, report to the tower for a debriefing,” came the Colonel’s voice through their comm link. Scott held his morpher up to his ear.

“Uh, Rodger, Colonel,” he said. “Summer, why don’t you head back to the Garage.”

“Well, he said all of us,” she said, pulling her helmet back on.

“Yeah, but you didn’t really see anything, and we,” he waved a hand between him and Ziggy and the rest of them, “can debrief him all right.” Summer shrugged.

“All right, well, if we’re not going to fight Venjix, I might as well catch a shower before we go out tonight.” She started up her bike and headed back towards the Garage, and as soon as she was out of sight, Dillon lunged for Ziggy, who quickly made for Scott’s car.

“I’m going to kill you!” Dillon exclaimed.

“Dillon, come on!” Scott exclaimed, as he, Flynn and Gem tried to hold him back. “I mean, it got her to leave, and you still get to have a night with Summer, just be kind of grateful for that at least.” Dillon huffed, but backed off and returned the Fury, and drove off before anyone could say another word.
