Stuff and a Journal

 Name: Shanitori Warder
Age: around 19
Has: Red hair, dark brown eyes, tan skin
Is: Shorter, leaner.
Abilities: mage craft; she is especially good at carving and activating rune stones, but can make offensive and defensive magic well too. Is not so good with other types of simpler magic, but can do them well when she learns them—manly is not bad, simply ignorant. Is also rather powerful for her age, but is often shunned because she does have these great abilities and not many people can understand (or don’t find her useful). Not very good in physical combat, because she has such a small, slight build. Maybe: she might be able to see into the future, I haven’t decided yet.
Past: Mother was a hedgewitch/healer, who spent one night with a grand mage and bore Shanitori. Shanitori who was very powerful, could not focus her magic enough to heal, but she could harm people and rip apart her village, thus making the villagers fear her, especially after her mother died. She moved to a cottage on the outskirts of the village and kept a small crop, feeding and providing for herself from that. She also became particularly good at carving rune stones, because they could channel her massive amounts of energy, and actually did so rather well, creating powerful wards. This comes in handy in her opening scene.

Name: Denolith Prince
Age: 23
Has: Black hair, light eyes fair skin
Is: taller, not quite so muscular
Abilities: is good with many weapons, short sword, bow and knife in particular, but is also a better strategist than many of his brothers. He is better at a closer range combat, or a situation involving less combat and has good physical stamina. He also is not quite so easily swade by magic, as he was trained against it.
Past: Denolith was born the third in line to the throne. However, on his death bed, the king specifically stated that Denolith was to be made King. The eldest prince did not like this and with the support of the second prince, they decided to kill Denolith before he had a chance to wear the crown. They both had enough support within the court to do this, but neither of them can be crowned king with the sacred crown and other artifacts are missing. Denolith, however, does not have them as he gets word of his brothers’ plots and flees across the country, his brothers’ men catching up to him.

Name: Margone Hunter
Age: Unknown
Has: long, twisted brown hair, darker skin, green eyes
Is: Tall and very muscular
Abilities: best at combat of all kinds, and has a repertoire of weaponry. Not the best planner in the world, but is surprisingly even tempered. He is said to have gone four hours plowing through men. Can also be rather stealthy, but in most settings, you know he’s there. However, he is very susceptible to magic, and can easily fall under a spell.
Past: Much about Margone is unknown—he just came out of nowhere one day, and quickly gained the reputation of being the biggest, baddest and best at what he did—beating the shiz-nit out of people. He begins looking for Denolith to help him out, not because he likes him, but because he absolutely hates Denolith’s two older brothers, who held him in prison for a number of years before he managed to escape.

Kind of want more people to round out the “traveling” group, but can’t figure out who to have.

Name: Terix
Age: Unknown
Looks: Covered with a mask
Is: on the tall side, but very light and speedy.
Abilities: Stealth and agility are Terix’s main abilities and he uses them to the highest degree as a thief. Also really great at disguise (you find out he’s a girl).
Past: He’s the one that stone the ceremonial crown and other treasures in the confusion of the king dying. Possibly because he doesn’t like the monarchy.
I haven’t decided how the confrontation between him and Denolith is going to go.

Name: Cotinth Prince
Looks: blonde
Is; same as Deno.
Abilities: Corruption, conknivery
Past: the first in line for the throne-wants to kill his brothers so they won’t get in the way. He can’t quite kill Eanith yet, because he has too much support in the court.

Name: Eanith
Looks: Like Cotinth
Is: same as Cotinth and Denolith
Abilities: Same as Cotinth
Past: Decided if they’re trying to kill Denolith, he might as well try and kill his older brother and take the throne for himself. Has a lot of court support, but that may slowly wane…

Shanitori rubbed her temple as she tried to focus on the garden. She needed to harvest much of her small crop if she were to save it from what felt like a coming rain. Shani felt herself grimace as another pain shot through her head. If only she knew what the pains meant or why she got them, perhaps she would not hate them so much. If only there was something to explain it all to her.
She had been born the daughter of a hedgewitch and a passing mage, who had to have been powerful, because sometimes, Shanitori could not even look at something without destroying it with her sheer will. It had left her unable to heal, for she could not control this great magic, and it had also left the villagers in fear that one day they might be the something her gaze landed on. When her mother had died, she had moved away from the central healers hut, to an unused one room house on the very cusp of the village to live in solitude.
Pain shot through her head again.
Shani hissed, trying to drive it away with the sound, to no avail. She moved back to the vegetables; there were not many more left in her patch, she could harvest them easily in a matter of minutes.
Maybe the pains were from the feelings the ward stones laying at the edge of her property gave her. The protective stones she carved that allowed her to trade for something she could not grow lay at each corner of her property and sometimes in between the corners, just to make sure she was truly safe. As of now, Shani could feel them pulsing through the earth, telling her that something was coming her way—maybe many somethings from the way it pulsed from underneath her.
The last vegetable came free form the earth, and she laid it in the basket with the rest. Now perhaps, she could rest her head for a time.
But as she moved her baskets of produce in doors, she noticed a swift release of the pressure and pain forcing its weight on her skull. She blinked a few times attempting cope with the sudden lightness she felt. And beneath her feet, the pulsing only grew stronger.
The sharp neighing of a horse reached inside of the house, and Shani left to investigate
